Treasures is an EP of collaborations and instrumentals by LANZ, the project of in-demand sideman Benjamin Lanz. Ben is best known for performing in The National and Beirut, and studio work with artists ranging from Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams to This Is The Kit and Mouse on Mars. The full EP arrives on May 9th.
It has been announced with a double-sided single with vocal contributions by members of Ben's communities in Paris and within the Brassland label. The lead track “No Good” features the gritty yet ethereal voice of Melissa Laveaux, a Canadian singer based in Paris who blends influence from folk, indie, and Afro-Caribbean music — channeling her Haitian heritage into indie spaces. Ben and Melissa have become friendly in their shared home town of Paris, France. The flip features Atlanta-born, Brooklyn-based artist Fusilier who is fresh off the March release of his debut album Ambush They met through their common association with the Brassland label. It is one of two LANZ/Fuslier tracks on the Treasures release.
