Brassland presented three artists at the Haldern Pop Festival which modestly bills itself as a “small, cozy festival in the Lower Rhine area.” In fact, it was celebrating its 30th year and has a sufficient artistic reputation to consistently sell out all 5,000 available tickets in advance, often before announcing a line-up. Fresh off the experience of our presentation at Adelaide Festival in Australia, we had begun searching for other events where might present a number of artists across the current roster. ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE (ENGLISH)
Guten Tag! After our recent experience bringing most of our active roster to Australia's Adelaide Festival, the label has begun to keep an eye out for distant cities which might play host to this thing that we do. This August's Haldern Pop Festival in northwestern Germany has answered the call! Billing itself as a "small, cozy festival in the Lower Rhine area," the actually not-so-small fest has an amazing history and plays to a sold out audience of about 5,000 people every summer.
Festival organizer Stefan Reichmann came to us a few months back, asking about artists who might participate in the 2013 edition. This is the Kit, Buke and Gase and Jherek Bischoff said yes! (Brassland friends Owen Pallett, Sam Amidon and several dozen more fine musicians are also taking part.) The event will include some special once-in-a-lifetime collaborations such as Jherek's first concert with conductor André de Ridder and the ensemble Stargaze
We apologize about being so late with the news because the festival has been sold out for months now. But we wanted to use this space to say how honored we are to be participating in Haldern Pop's 30th anniversary edition!
