The National Kick Off Their Tour In (and With) Style
In 2 days, The National kick off an American tour with 15 shows in 16 days. The days before the tour find the band fit and sexy as ever, semi-groomed and glamorous.

We're counting the days until our latest two-week tour, through many states and several NCAA conferences: NC, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, WV, etc. The Escape from New York... Most important, cleanliness & personal grooming. Items from my road toilette:
* alpine herbs & tea tree oil liquid body cleansers
* herbal shampoo for dry to normal hair
* Gillette clear gel deodorant ("Pacific Light" scent)
* Crest in "neat squeeze" dispenser
* Cetaphil liquid soap
* Neutrogena ultra gentle facial moisturizer
* toothbrush (Oral-B)
* dental floss (Oral-B)
All is liquid and neatly dispensed in a tube or sturdy plastic bottle. What ho, so much vanity? We are not out to steal your girlfriends nor your beer. It is the finer plaisir & frisson of the double life, leaving the workaday world, if only for a short while to play and pretend and enjoy, for after all, as it says in the Koran, life is a sport and a pastime.
