Buke and Gase headline, open for Tomahawk and Animal Collective

Have you ever caught yourself awkwardly fist-pumping and shredding air guitar to General Dome? Don’t stop now. Alt-metal supergroup Tomahawk (featuring Mike Patton of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle, Trevor Dunn, also of Mr. Bungle, Duane Denison of The Jesus Lizard, and John Stanier of Helmet and Battles) has asked Buke and Gase to join them for a series of shows in June. And to further demonstrate the genre-spanning power of Buke and Gase’s music, the band has also been asked to open for psychedelic indie heroes Animal Collective in Washington, DC. (DC is in for quite a treat that week.)

The action actually starts a bit earlier though. There's a gig this Friday at Bryce's MusicNOW festival in Cincinnati; then a handful of headline dates throughout April in major European markets. i.e. Paris! Amsterdam! Berlin! A ton of other cities in Germany including someplace called Erfurt! The London gig is already sold out so get with it continental Europe, and buy your tickets now. You don't want to get left in the cold. Or rather, in the pleasant spring air. Well, okay you can have both -- spring air, and a rocking time at a Buke and Gase show.

Lest you think the band are ignoring the North in North America, they are also playing Toronto, Canada for the NXNE festival in June. And lest you think the band's upcoming itinerary is suspiciously light on Southern shows, let us remind you they were recently about as far south as it gets, doing a full tour of Australia, wherein they recorded this sunny sounding interview with national youth broadcaster Triple J.

So okay, we're starting to drone on here, so let's give you a three point plan to get ready for the gigs. One, pump yourself up with this recently debuted video for "General Dome," the song that probably got the head-banging talk started.
